Temp 1-2-1: Susanne Pingree, Marketing Assistant at Warwick Employment Group (WEG)
We caught up with Susanne to find out about how temping helped her explore new avenues of marketing and business after moving to the UK from the United States.
What attracted you to temping?
Two years ago, I moved from the United States to the UK. I had been doing some marketing consultancy work during that time but had found the hours too irregular. Temping has provided me with consistent hours each week and has allowed me to explore different avenues of marketing and business. I have worked in the beverage industry and the medical industry but never for the higher education sector. Temping gives me a view into a new world of business and has allowed me to broaden my horizons.
What kinds of roles have you taken on?
I am currently working as a marketing assistant for the Warwick Employment Group. It has allowed me to work on multiple projects, learn new and unique programs and work as a part of a larger team.
How did the flexibility of temping help you?
Temping has provided me with consistent hours each week. It has also allowed me to grow my marketing skills, keep up to date with the latest marketing trends and network with other marketing professionals.
What is your advice for other temps out there?
Temping is a great CV boost and gives you tremendous career reach. It is good for professionals looking for a possible career change or as a way to develop the necessary skills needed for a promotion.
