The summer is a precious thing (especially in the UK!!), so when the sun eventually does come out it can be hard to stay focused while you job hunt.
With this in mind, we’ve put together a few helpful pointers on how you can make the most of the summer sun whilst keeping on top of your search.
1. Plan your days
Plan to work at your job hunt for a certain number of hours each day. If you work to the schedule, you can finish on time and still enjoy the rest of your day – guilt-free.
A big tip is to always check job boards in the morning as this is when a lot of recruiters upload their new jobs!
2. Take the search outside
A simple way to make the most of the sun is to take your search outside. Pack up your laptop and notes and sit in the garden whilst completing your applications.
To cut down on glare, angle your laptop to face the sun and turn up the display brightness.
3. Play some sports
Although directly not job hunting, by taking part in sports you are actually improving your cv and employability.
Employers love applicants who are involved in extracurricular activities and sport is a great way to get out and show your commitment and enthusiasm. Team sports also show teamwork and collaboration whilst solo sports show focus and the ability to work independently.
4. Sort your social media whilst getting a suntan
We’ve shared the benefits of social media when job hunting before, but building an online professional profile is a great way to market yourself to employers. This can easily be done outside in the sunshine and from wherever you are in the world.
