Description

We are looking to recruit a Frontend Web Developer for a Midlands-based company.

Our client is a small company that has a very prestigious client list including Siemens Gamesa, Vodafone, UK Ministry of Defence (Navy, Marines, RAF) and the European Space Agency, among others.

They have an R&D focus, particularly in the areas of unmanned air, ground, sea and subsea vehicles, control systems and sensors. With continued expansion of the company, they are looking to bring in exceptional individuals who can work through the complete lifecycle of projects.

This Web and Software Engineer role is expected to lead in the development of multiple websites and web applications in line with the company's marketing and communications policies. The role will commence as part time during studies extending out to either a summer role, gap year or full-time post-studies role.

Applications will require you to link to a portfolio or a GitHub account which demonstrate a capability to produce a user centric website or web based software interface, please attach it to your application so we can send this also to the client. The client is not pursuing applications that do not have demonstrable experience.
This job will require the individual to be able to:
* Implement a user interface design according to specification
* Liaise with design team to produce aesthetically pleasing and functional user interfaces
* Understand the varying needs of the different brands and adapt the interface when needed
* Develop an interface that allows for future development and integration of more data.

Please note, this is not a research role, the individual is expected to actively develop the different components quickly and accurately in order to create a prototype build which can then be tested and refined with feedback. As such, the individual should have an outward going personality that allows for strong communication.
A Masters student who achieved at least a 2:1 in their Batchelors degree or a third-year student with an extensive portfolio outside of university studies, demonstrable via GitHub or some other medium where the quality of the code can be analysed.
In particular, we’re looking for experience with modern web standards, HTML5, Javascript ES6 and CSS3; a non-reliance on frameworks is preferred and prior experience with PWAs is desirable.

Individual must be competent in the development of a graphic user interface with a GIS style structure overlaid by various intersecting contextual layers and must demonstrate a strong level of detail and precision in their work as well as a capability of working to deadlines.
Individual must demonstrate a strong cross section of abilities and different design influences.

We expect our team members to see their role as more than just a job but demonstrate a passion for quality and take pride in their work.
* These are not traditional graduate jobs with a minor role in a project, you will be expected to keep up with the rest of the team from day 1.
* You will be expected to manage your work life balance, support is given, but you must be organised.
* These are not student projects; this is not academic grading. Your capability will be tested every single day.
You will be required to work from the site in Nuneaton 3 days a week.
