Description

We are looking to recruit an Embedded Software Engineer for a Midlands-based company.

Our client is a small company that has a very prestigious client list including Siemens Gamesa, Vodafone, UK Ministry of Defence (Navy, Marines, RAF) and the European Space Agency, among others.

They have an R&D focus, particularly in the areas of unmanned air, ground, sea and subsea vehicles, control systems and sensors. With continued expansion of the company, they are looking to bring in exceptional individuals who can work through the complete lifecycle of projects.

Role will commence as part time during studies extending out to either a summer role, gap year or full time post-studies role.
* Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software for embedded devices
* Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
* Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
* Work with members of other teams to facilitate integration into wider systems
* Proficiency programming in embedded C/C++
* Practical skills with microcontrollers (e.g. ARM, ATMEL)
* Strong understanding of computer science algorithms, data structures, computational complexity and memory usage
* Understanding of software development life cycle and methodologies
* Experience with embedded Linux

A Masters student who achieved at least a 2:1 in their Batchelors degree or a third-year student with an extensive portfolio outside of university studies, demonstrable via GitHub or some other medium where the quality of the code can be analysed.
Individual must demonstrate a strong level of detail and precision in their work as well as a capability of working to deadlines.

We expect our team members to see their role as more than just a job but demonstrate a passion for quality and take pride in their work.

These are not traditional graduate jobs with a minor role in a project, you will be expected to keep up with the rest of the team from day 1.
* You will be expected to manage your work life balance, support is given, but you must be organised.
* These are not student projects; this is not academic grading. Your capability will be tested every single day.

You will be required to work from the site in Nuneaton 3 days a week.
