Description

This job is part of the Middlesex University Students’ Union’s Community Placement Scheme and is only available to current students of Middlesex University. The scheme has been established to ensure students are paid London Living Wage (£10.55) to put your studies or interests to use practically on placements whilst helping the local community. The scheme is designed to boost student employability and increase collaboration within Barnet and beyond.

Young Barnet Foundation was set up in 2015 to bring solutions to local issues affecting Children and Young People, complementing the existing local support network with a specific focus on under 25s. YBF works strategically to bring charities & organisations together to support & build capacity in the voluntary sector. Our vision is for young people to grow up healthy, safe and happy with the best opportunities of securing brighter futures.
• Develop an internal work plan to create a ‘Young Barnet Foundation’ Day, designed to fundraise for local charities that help children and young people.
• Outline what involvement would be needed from various YBF staff to facilitate the event
• Produce an information pack, using current and new YBF literature, that can be provided to local schools looking to partner with YBF as their charity of choice to create a YBF Day of fundraising.
• Develop a marketing plan
• Market Research the pack with one or two of the potential schools looking to work with YBF to stress test the pack before launch.
Essential
• Currently studying at Middlesex University
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Cultural awareness
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and plan a workload effectively
• Creative and resourceful
• Proactive and determined
• Interest in event planning

Desirable
• Experience in a similar role
• Studying a management or business related course
