This role is part of the WMG Internship programme.The intern will support the company for the design and development of a digital dashboard where it will be displayed on large screens in the factory. This will involve developing an interface and identifying the right hardware to display this interface.
This is a great opportunity to make a difference and help Hitherbest get more products out the door whilst getting more experience on software development and visualisation.
The project will start with creating a list of requirements for the design and development of the dashboard and a plan for what can be achieved during the 8 week internship. The intern will be expected to implement at least one working system into the company which includes developing a dashboard and achieving a stable connection to the screens in the factory where the dashboard would be located and updated on demand.
  • IT hardware and software skills to apply in an industrial environment
  • Excellent computing skills (ideally in a Linux environment)Excellent technical skills in web development (particularly JavaScript + HTML), and data processing
  • Experience of using single board computers i.e.: Raspberry Pi
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Keen to work in a busy manufacturing environment
Hitherbest Sheet Metal Fabrications, Dawley, Telford
University of Warwick Health and Safety procedures will be followed. Interns will be inducted at the company site according to their local safety rules and be given the required risk assessment for their position. Hearing Protection is required on shop floor and safety shoes are recommended.
