Lead and manage a team of creative professionals to assist in the delivery of branding and campaigns for University Marketing projects from brief to execution whilst overseeing and maintaining brand integrity across all marketing initiatives and communications. We have some brilliant ideas for the University of Warwick, and are looking for a new Creative Content Officer to join our team and help us drive innovation and make these ideas a reality. This role strikes an ideal balance between the passion of content creation and a keen head for managing projects and people. 

This role will lead a small, but growing, talented studio team consisting of video production, animation, graphic design, and social media content to produce planned campaign and ad-hoc content. As our Creative Content Officer, you’ll need to think strategically, helping to plan our annual campaigns, producing reports on the performance of our content, and helping guide and mentor the team. You will also need to have a good background in multimedia production and be able to get stuck in when needed.Our studio team sits within the Digital Product and Performance team within a thriving marketing department.   • You are comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders at different levels to produce project plans
  • You can produce comprehensive reports and provide detail on what content works best, in which context, and why
  • You know how to think big and deliver content that is truly innovative, but always deliver on brand, on message and on time
  • You can act as a brand champion for the University, ensuring consistency and quality across all channels

Brand Management

  • Oversee the delivery of the brand management for University Marketing projects, including the setting of style guides, brand guidelines, brand vision and value propositions
  • Create and deliver compelling and creative brand campaigns for University Marketing projects to improve brand identity and broaden awareness of recruitment and services
  • Oversee the development of high quality and effective marketing materials for University Marketing projects, ensuring that they consistently deliver a professionally articulated brand that clearly sets out a market position, point of differentiation and engaging content
  • Act as brand champion for the University, ensuring consistency, quality across all channels
  • Assist with website development and new product launches as well as developing new recruitment opportunities for departments
  • Manage external creative agencies to develop and deliver ongoing & campaign-led brand assets for use across the University
  • Seek out new content opportunities for departments

Production Management

  • Lead and manage the studio team on projects from initial stages to delivery including scheduling creative briefs with departments, creating project timelines, assigning roles based on the individuals strengths and managing outputs
  • Workflow and resource management of the studio team, ensuring that all projects are well managed and deadlines are met
  • Review and update daily/weekly work schedules of studio team and produce clear KPI reporting of all scheduled activity
  • Ensure all parties, including departments, stakeholders and the team, are up-to-date on a projects status
  • Provide design and creative direction on brand-level digital projects
  • Oversee the studio team and all the work they produce to ensure a match between audience and message, ensuring consistency and quality over all branded communication


  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong people management skills with experience managing creative people
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent professional experience
  • Ability to report on success and develop content plans accordingly
  • Understanding of stakeholder management


  • Experience of creating content across different channels
  • Project management training
  • G.C.S.E in English Understanding of stakeholder management language (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in Higher Education

Working from home during the pandemic, however the role is based on campus at the University of Warwick.
