To support the Education and Outreach Officer and Learning team in the day to day administrative running of Attenborough Arts Centre’s programmes of learning, activities and events.
Arts session participant support
Providing 1-1 support for children with disabilities to take part in sessions, differentiated for their needs ensuring activity is safe and accessible for all.

Ensuring a range of communication methods are used to enable children to take part

Assisting with feedback and evaluation of the sessions

Customer Service and Support
To maintain high standards of customer care, including responding to everyday enquiries from parents, carers, teachers, tutors, performers, programmers and partners by telephone, email and in person including being a point of contact for anyone who may require special assistance.

Liaise with Venue Assistant on the planning of room set-up for all courses, workshops, public events, performances

Acting as point of contact for day to day queries in the absence of the Co-Directors on issues relating to the programme.
Point of contact with tutors, performers and companies together with relevant university service providers such as Unitemps, porters, catering or other designated contractors or suppliers including DBS applications to ensure the smooth operational running of Embrace Arts programme of events and activities.
Liaise with visual arts officer on selection and presentation of visual arts crafts case, linking to tutors own professional practice when appropriate

Finance and Resource Management
Follow established procedures to ensure all programming contracts meet financial regulations and maintain relevant budgeting tools.

Run and present standard reports to enable accurate financial planning on programming

Liaise with Venue Assistant to identify materials and equipment requirements for events and courses.

Supervise student and event bookings; receipting and recording payments by cash, cheque and credit card and inputting data to the student database and box office system.

Occasional out of contracted hours working will be required – this will be given back as time off in lieu.
Knowledge of subject matter, ability to communicate with variety of learners.
• 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above, or equivalent, to include Maths and English*
• Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word*
• Numeracy*
• Some prior broadly related work experience in the arts*
• Experience of dealing with customers*

• Experience of working in an arts based venue and/or on arts based projects involving the public
• Knowledge of arts education programmes and/or programming (dance, children’s work, spoken word, comedy, theatre)
• Knowledge or experience of the needs of disabled people/artists in terms of access and performance needs
• Experience of using Outlook, Photoshop (or equivalent)Box Office systems, databases and web-based research/networking
• Awareness of marketing needs and principles
This role will be working on site at the Attenborough Arts Centre
